Thank you to everyone who made "Sing Christmas" such a special event.
1. to our singers who come together as a choir to work hard and with joy to learn the songs for our concerts. You always impress me with your enthusiasm, your willingness to "go for it" and try new things, and your commitment to our choir. I am lucky to get to work with you every week :-)
2. to the parents, grandparents and siblings of some of our singers who joined us for a few rehearsals and then sang with us for some of our songs in the concert. It was great to have you!

Our Christmas Concert!
We are hard at work preparing our annual Christmas Concert which will be held Saturday December 19 at 3pm in the Mill Road Community Space. We look forward to singing for you and WITH you: one of our favourite parts of the concert is singing Christmas Carols and other seasonal songs with our audience.
All are welcome - this beautiful space has not only pews and chairs for its audience, but also a huge, lovely carpet with cushions so that you can snuggle up with your children to enjoy the music.
Admission is by donation.
Remembrance Day
We participated in the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Chelsea Pioneer Cemetery again this year.
I had the pleasure of working with some of the grade 5/6 students from Chelsea Elementary School so that we could join together with them to sing the song in the ceremony. Which song?! A very special song called We Are the Lucky Ones, written by Deborah Thomson our former accompanist and a very active musician in our area.
The Gatineau Valley Historical Society has put together a beautiful video from the day: http://www.gvhs.ca/news/remembrance.html.

A beautifully sunny first rehearsal day!
The Chelsea Youth Choir's first rehearsals for this year are TODAY! I'm looking forward to meeting new singers, and catching up with our returning singers. What a beautiful day for singing!
See you soon,
Stephanie
P.S. We still have room for new singers - come and join us for a rehearsal or two to see if singing in CYC is for you!
